We are very keen to be involved with the communities in which we operate. Our Resident Involvement Officer works with representatives from all areas of the local community, including Christchurch Community Partnership, The Somerford Centre and various tenants and residents groups to generate ideas that will positively benefit both Twynham tenants and residents and the wider community.
We currently support the following initiatives:
Salmon Credit Union
Credit Unions encourage people to save regularly and they are also an ideal way for our residents to avoid unscrupulous doorstep lenders who prey on those least able to afford their high load rates.
We are helping our residents to get better access to safe low cost savings and loans with a £1000 donation to Salmon Credit Union, a non profit savings and loans co-operative for Christchurch, East Dorset and West Hampshire. Adults and children who live in these areas can become members. They are encouraged to save regularly and any profit is returned to them as a dividend.
For further information regarding Salmon Credit Union please contact Vicki Tongman at Vicki.tongman@micro-e.co.uk
Twynham Rangers
Twynham Rangers is a youth football club that was started by a group of volunteers from the Twynham Meadows area of Christchurch that received initial financial support from Christchurch Police, Christchurch Borough Council and us. They have gone from strength to strength and last season were league cup winners.
They are currently looking for new players and more volunteers to help manage and coach new teams. If you are interested in becoming involved, please contact the club secretary, Mandy Forbes, on 01202 485492.
The Somerford Centre
We are members of the stakeholders group at the Somerford Centre and currently hold weekly housing surgery drop-ins there.
Watermans Wheelpark
We have a representative on the board of Management of the Wheelpark.
