Twynham Housing Association (THA) is a charitable Registered Social Landlord [RSL] based in Christchurch, Dorset.

First registered as an Industrial & Provident Society & housing association in 1989, we received 1,600 homes from Christchurch Borough Council as the result of a successful ballot of tenants giving rise to a Large Scale Voluntary Transfer [LSVT].

Since the transfer, we have focused on providing, managing and maintaining social housing not only in Christchurch but across all the local authority area of Dorset plus the New Forest, Fareham and Eastleigh.

As a result, we now have over 4,000 properties in management. This includes properties let under our private sector leasing scheme, where we lease properties from owners and landlords in the private sector and let them to homeless families and other people in housing need.

We joined the Sovereign Housing Group on 1 April 2005. And in April 2007, Sovereign Housing Association transferred its 1039 homes in Dorset and south Hampshire to Twynham under a management agreement.

As a housing association, THA is governed by a Board of Management. This is normally made up of 11 members, including 3 tenants and a co-opted member from Sovereign Housing Group.
